Logitech’s new security camera the Circle 2 can serve both indoor and outdoor use cases and comes with various accessories to enable easy installation anywhere at home.
Most security cameras in the market specialize in either indoor or outdoor setting. Adopting an alternate strategy, Logitech designed a product to give users the flexibility to decide where to monitor their homes.
The product features a 1080p camera that supports two-way audio, night vision and an ultra-wide, 180-degree view angle.
The Circle 2 is available in two models – one is wire-free and the other one is tethered to a power cable. The wire-free model features a detachable rechargeable battery which can run for up to three months, according to the company. Users can also purchase spare batteries to change power sources.
Three accessories are available for the Circle 2. The Window Mount places the camera to a window pane, to let it can monitor the environment outdoor from inside the house; the Plug Mount plugs the camera directly into an AC power outlet; and the Weatherproof Extension extends the length of the power cord.
Logitech said the device will support Amazon Alexa voice control, and Apple HomeKit integration will be released to users after launch through a software update. It will also work with the company’s POP smart button to connect with other smart home devices.
Users will get 24 hours of cloud storage for free and can view time-lapse videos from the mobile app. There are also subscription plans that include advanced features such as human detection and 14-day or 31-day backup for additional storage.
The wired model costs US$180 and the wire-free version is priced at US$200.
