Expanding its offerings with solutions for the emerging smart home market, Bosch Security Systems, Inc. has launched the Z-Wave Home Control Gateway. The gateway allows integrators to connect B Series Control Panels from Bosch with Z-Wave devices _ including lighting controls, door locks, temperature sensors, IP cameras and more _ to provide their customers with home automation and remote monitoring capabilities.
Integrating B Series Control Panels with Z-Wave devices enables connected systems that give users customized control over security, lighting, heating, cooling and more. Programming possibilities can include automatically arming the security system when an exterior door is locked or disarming the system when the door is unlocked. When a user leaves home, tapping an Away button on a smartphone could also trigger the doors to lock, the security system to arm, interior lights to turn off and the thermostat to adjust to conserve energy and reduce costs. These are just a few of the options available for effortless home control, as the intuitive wizard makes it easy for integrators to program trigger- or schedule-based automation tailored for each customer. A web interface provides the user with access to a system dashboard and home control via an iOS or Android smartphone or other Internet-enabled device.
The gateway connects via a Wi-Fi router, broadband modem or wired gateway. Video and other system data is stored in the cloud with the gateways service plan, reducing hardware costs for the user and providing easy, reliable retrieval of information.
The Z-Wave Home Control Gateway is compatible with the B5512, B4512 and B3512 intrusion control panels. These panels are modern Internet appliances with built-in IP communication, free apps for mobile operation and Bosch IP camera integration capabilities. They support up to four areas and 48 points of protection.
