Launching now on Indiegogo, ALYT (Affordably Link Your Things) is a do-it-yourself (DIY), open sourced, Android-powered smart home manager. It enables consumers to easily manage their home security, energy use, entertainment systems, and home automation through their Android or iOS smartphones and tablets.
The gateway supports multiple protocols: Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi, Z-Wave, ZigBee, 3.5G Cellular, Infrared and DLNA. It also touts seamless operations and video verification during power or communications failures. The company plans to eventually offer an ALYT store where consumers can purchase apps by third-party developers.
ALYT is expected to ship in the Fall of 2014. The ALYT team is seeking $100,000 in Indiegogo funding within 60 days to complete this device. Currently, the project has $24,000 in backing and 59 more days to go.
