Acer BYOC cloud platform works with world leading SoC vendors, including Marvell, MediaTek and Realtek for IoT applications.
Marvell 88MC200 SoC enables the mass-market adoption of smart appliances and devices like air conditioner at home. In cooperation with BYOC Smart Home Solution, it enables home monitoring, controlling, notification and data collection.
Acer BYOC demonstrates Home Gateway Solution with MediaTek MT7620 and Mobile Sensor Hub DevKit MT2502 (Aster). MediaTek MT7620 embedded CPU processes applications like routing, security and VoIP. It transmits data from sensors to the gateway, remote monitoring by the phone or tablet, and video recording upon triggered events. It supports ZigBee, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, linking to smart appliances, fans, IP cameras, PIR sensors, TVs, and VoIP phones. MediaTek’s power-saving MT2502 can be applied for wearables and IoT devices. With MT2502 integration, BYOC Mobile Sensor Hub DevKit comes with current and certain-period data transmission from the sensor hub along with data statistics.
Realtek RTL8196D microcontroller, the integrated SoC, is an cost-effective solution for Acer BYOC supported IoT Storages. The solution supports file browsing, access and management, portable Wi-Fi APs and power banks.
Besides, the Acer BYOC open platform incorporates Snappy Ubuntu Core for surveillance solutions at home, such as video monitoring from an IP camera and intruder alarms with a ZigBee PIR sensor. When intruders enter an area that is monitored by a PIR motion sensor, the IP camera records a short video of the incident and stores the videos into aBeing One. Then a warning message will be sent to the home owner’s mobile phone and the video can be viewed instantly from aBeing One.
