CoAsia Microelectronics Corp. presented Air Mentor, a 6-in-1 air quality sensor, at Computex Taipei 2015. Air Mentor monitors the following parameters: temperature, relative humidity, concentrations of CO (carbon monoxide), CO2 (carbon dioxide), VOCs (volatile organic compounds), and PM 10 & PM 2.5.
Air Mentor uses industrial grade sensors to ensure reliability, so that measurement results would not be easily affected by different environments. For power, it can be plugged into the wall or run on battery.
By employing cloud computing, Air Mentor produces an overall air quality score from measurements results of the parameters, and the score is translated into a corresponding light color shown by the LED ring on the sensor. This way, users can know the current air quality with just a glance at the Air Mentor.
A mobile app is available. and when connected to the sensor via Bluetooth, it can not only show real-time measurement results but also download recorded data from the sensor. The sensor can record 3 days of data.
The Air Mentor is currently sold at $269.
