Wirepas, a provider of scalable and simple-to-use device connectivity, and EnOcean, a provider of energy-harvesting wireless technology, have teamed up to offer self-powered Bluetooth lighting control solutions with Mesh network connectivity.
At Light+Building 2018 held March 18-23 in Frankfurt, Germany, show visitors had the chance to experience how modern LED lighting solutions can benefit from the natural fit of energy-harvesting technology and Mesh connectivity.
The combination of EnOcean´s Easyfit Bluetooth switches and Wirepas Mesh network enables the development of new applications for modern lighting worldwide. The integration of Easyfit switches into Wirepas Mesh allows an optimal, maintenance-free control of lighting systems.
Wirepas Mesh is a wireless, low-power IoT network protocol that can be used to connect, locate and identify lights, sensors, beacons, assets, machines and meters in cities, buildings, industry, logistics and energy – with better scale, density, flexibility and reliability.
Wirepas Mesh is a next-generation wide-area mesh network that is suited for use in massive IoT applications. Commercialized following 10 years of research in academia, this software solution provides scalable, reliable wireless connectivity for IoT devices operating in any frequency band. It is deployed at scale (millions of devices) in production use cases today.
Inspired by nature, Wirepas Mesh is fully de-centralized, meaning all decisions regarding the most efficient use of spectrum are made locally by the networked devices. The network is fully operational without any additional network infrastructure.
Self-powered Wireless Bluetooth Switches from EnOcean
Self-powered wireless wall switches for Bluetooth lighting control systems from EnOcean enable the development of maintenance-free, ready-to-use LED lighting applications. Easyfit switches with Near Field Communication (NFC) make it possible to come up with simple or complex lighting scenes and effects and enable easy, flexible installation of lighting applications. Easyfit switches have been deployed in hundreds of lighting applications worldwide, helping to make LED lighting solutions more energy-efficient, more flexible and lower in cost.

The Self-powered Internet of Things
