Global access control leader dormakaba will demonstrate its new Oracode 480i keyless entry lock and Smart Controller for the vacation rental industry at VRMA Eastern Conference on April 16-17 in Miami. The keyless entry Oracode 480i deadbolt lock is secure, easy to install and increases peace of mind for vacation rental owners, guests, and property managers. dormakaba’s Smart Controller allows operators to communicate remotely with their unit’s Oracode locks for flexible, reliable access.
Oracode 480i electronic keyless entry lock simplifies installation. Operators can quickly mount 480i electronic locks on existing doors using only a Philips screwdriver without drilling additional holes. For added flexibility, property managers may assign time-sensitive access codes to each lock from a web browser or mobile device for complete control. To ensure security, Oracode locks track and maintain access codes, programming, and entry audit trails.
“Vacation rental security and home automation have become more connected today. Oracode’s technology enables users to issue secure time-sensitive access codes for the 480i lock even when the Internet connection or electricity to the property is down,” said Matt Elmore, Oracode Product Manager. “The 480i also sends entry notifications through a secure website to keep owners informed in real-time of occurring events such as guest arrivals, early checkout or if the Internet is down. “We understand the importance of controlled access. We upgraded to dormakaba’s Oracode networked keyless locks two years ago because we wanted greater property security, guest and vendor entry control and lock dependability. It has proven to be the best long-term, cost-effective solution,” said Quinn Tamm, President of California Vacation Villas, a full-service leasing and property management company that specializes in short-term vacation rentals. “Oracode saves us a significant amount of time and money by eliminating the need to staff a front desk.”
Tamm noted that his locks communicate wirelessly with dormakaba’s Oracode Smart Controller for real-time unit monitoring. “Oracode’s access codes seamlessly integrate with our BeHome247 home automation software, so we can see early check-in requests and generate appropriate codes to send to guests before arrival. The Smart Controller also allows us to control thermostats, lights, and pool and spa settings in our properties. We use this to regulate each unit’s temperature year-round based on occupancy, which saves us hundreds of dollars each month.”
The Smart Controller enables Oracode i-Series locks to remotely manage Smart Home devices such as thermostats, lights, and pool and spa controls from a single wireless controller.
Oracode’s online web application integrates with BeHome247 energy management system for ultimate energy savings and unit control. When the property is unoccupied, the Oracode Smart Controller enables property managers to adjust and monitor connected devices, like thermostats, remotely. This provides the ability to reduce energy consumption, detect alerts, improve security, and maximize unit profitability.
