Technical Consumer Products Limited (TCP) unveiled a smart home LED lighting system to the European market at Light + Building, Frankfurt in Germany. Branded as CONNECTED by TCP, the product utilizes LED lighting and a smart home platform designed by GreenWave Reality to make setup fast and simple. By linking to a home0 Wi-Fi or mobile network, users can control lighting. With functionality available via a smartphone, tablet or computer it provides a convenient solution to energy saving. The LED bulbs are said to consume around 80 per cent less energy than the traditional incandescent light bulbs, making them energy efficient and smart at the same time.
CONNECTED signals a new era for TCP, our first solution in the smart lighting market, said Thomas Luecke, President & CEO of TCP Limited. As a forward-thinking company we are pushing the boundaries of LED technology, to not only offer high quality lighting but empower consumers to be energy efficient in an ever-increasing digital world.
The bulbs can be controlled by a gateway and app that has been developed alongside Greenwave Reality, the global smart home innovator. Consumers desire smart home features as long as they are simple, affordable and useful, said Greg Memo, CEO of GreenWave Reality. Together with TCP we have provided consumers a powerful, personal way to reduce energy consumption while enhancing the comfort in their homes.
The intuitive app, which can be set up in minutes, gives consumers a range of controls over their home lighting, including:
_ One gateway to control up to 250 bulbs, enabling connection of an entire office or home
_ Three levels of access: home, local or wide area network
_ Smart controls for user-defined requirements as well as pre-configured controls:
_ome, switches all bulbs on
