Emoshape is raising funds for its EmoSpark project on crowdfunding platform Indiegogo. EmoSpark is an Android powered cube with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity that allows users to create and interact with an emotionally intelligent device through conversation, music, and visual media. Based on eight primary human emotions–joy, sadness, trust, disgust, fear, anger, surprise and anticipation–the device can “feel” an infinite variety in the emotional spectrum.
In essence, the device monitors facial expressions and emotions. It also understands conversations. It reacts by offering appropriate solutions–playing music it knows users enjoy, recalling a photograph or short video of happier events and more.
In addition, EmoSpark also connects to Wikipedia, Freebase, and NASA satellite MODIS to provide real-time information on global happenings, changes and hazards such as storm warnings, wild fires and hurricanes.
The AI-powered emotion-detecting device is currently at roughly $66,000 of its $100,000 goal.
